• If you wish to Swap overseas, contact a Solicitor
  who deals with Overseas Properties




• Always have your property Valued




• Always have your property Surveyed




• Any difference in price will have to be negotiated

Winter or Spring?

Very strange …

On Friday as we were sat outside having lunch in the sunshine (18ºC) we thought how lovely, spring is well and truly here!





The weather forecast did say that it could snow, but it hardly ever snows here on the south coast of the UK.

How wrong we were!

This morning we looked out of the window and our surroundings had been transformed into a picture postcard!

So if you are planning a Home Exchange to the UK soon, don't discard your winter clothes just yet!

We’ve received a few emails recently from some of our members who commented that they have not had a very good response to their listings. So we decided to investigate.

UPDATE HOLIDAY DATES

We had a look at these members listings and guess what … they hadn’t updated their holiday dates.





If someone states specific holiday dates in their listings and that time has passed, then you are reducing the possibility of people contacting you.

So please update your holiday dates as soon as possible!



ADD PHOTOGRAPHS

Some of the listings didn’t have any photographs. We can’t stress enough how important it is to add photographs to your listings.

If we were looking through a list of properties and some had photographs and some didn’t, you know which ones we would contact first … yes, the ones which have photographs attached.

So please add some photographs to your listings - you can add up to 5 photographs to each listing. If you don’t know how to add photographs, please Contact Us.


GIVE YOUR LISTINGS A SPRING CLEAN

The United Kingdom and most of Europe have just moved their clocks forward 1 hour - so Spring is officially here!




So as well as giving your home a Spring Clean have a good look at your listings and give them a Spring Clean too!


VISIT THE SITE REGULARLY

Visit the site regularly as we have new listings daily.

Some people have a look through the listings, when they first place their own listing on the site but then they might not return for a while.



So don’t miss out on finding your perfect swap, visit the site regularly!


CONTACT MEMBERS

Finding a swap is a two-way thing. Don’t just sit back and wait for someone to contact you.

If you find a property that you are really interested in, then contact the owner as soon as possible to see if they are interested in your property. If you don’t you may be disappointed.


ALWAYS UPDATE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS

Make sure we have your correct email address!

It is vital that you update your account with your current email address.


If you have changed your email address but have not updated your contact details on the site, how do you expect people to contact you? Out of date email addresses mean that people will not be able to contact you.

To make it easier for you, please Contact Us and we will update your details for you.

So again, don’t miss out on that perfect swap - let us know when you change your email address!

Contacting Members on Global Swops

We never cease to be amazed how some members expect to get a response when all they write in an email is “interested?”

Can you imagine how puzzled the people who receive these emails must be, as they have no idea what they are supposed to be interested in!

When you contact members on Global Swops, tell the person you are writing to the following information:

• Why their property appeals to you
• Tell them about your property
• Tell them your Global Swops Property Listing ID
